A Bit About Me.
My name is Sam Taylor and I am looking forward to guiding your child in their learning this year. This is my third year here and I have taught Years 1 and 2 most recently. I love teaching where the children are wonderful, the parents are encouraging, supportive and interested and the staff are fun and hardworking.I began teaching just over 20 years ago and have taught Years 7, 4, 3, 2 and 1 at close to ten different schools.
I have three children of my own - Alex at Uni, Tom in Year 11 and Riley in Year 7.
When I am not at school I am often at home doing school work or surfing the internet and other teachers' blogs for new and interesting ideas. This year is my first effort at blogging. I hope you feel this gives you a 'fly on the wall' snapshot of what your child gets up to at school. I am hoping to upload images and videos for you to enjoy from home. I look forward to blogging with some other classes from around the world!
I also enjoy going to the gym (sometimes I am a gym junkie and sometimes I should make more of an effort). I love movies and usually go each weekend. I can be found at shopping centres most weekends looking for a bargain or two. My children have loads of extra curricular activities and I watch them play a lot of sport which makes me so proud. I enjoy playing games on the IPad, Wii and DS. My favourite these holidays has been Zelda Skyward Sword. I find it incredibly challenging, addictive and a lot of fun. When I have some spare time I like to read. I recently read a trilogy called the Hunger Games.
MEDICAL ALERT!!!!
In the last few years I have developed severe allergies. I am allergic to anything that smells delicious (perfume, flowers, deodorants, many shampoos, makeup, lotions and potions, washing powders, incense, oils etc) and a few cleaning products that are not so delicious and Thai and Indian foods. Unfortunately, you will need to be mindful of this when entering my classroom. If you are wearing something that I am allergic to I will let you know and ask you to continue talking to me outside where the smell can disperse more easily. I hope this is not too inconvenient for you but the thought of jabbing myself with the very thick and sharp Epipen is very daunting.
