Kate had an exercise book from her Mum in Year Six. She had beautiful neat writing.
Hannah had a coin collection from her Dad.
This is a slate from the museum and the following photos are of the class investigating the goodies on loan from the museum. They include a replica school house, reading books, copy books, writing implements and a manners chart.
We followed directions to draw some very cute babies.
We practised soccer skills at Get Set Go lessons. Today focused on kicking and stopping the ball. We played with 2A because they missed a lot of their lesson due to the Fire Drill.
Hannah provided us with a link that explains the old money.
What a busy day!
We saw all the photos and work you did today. I like looking at old things too. Callum said you are going on an excursion to look at an old school. You are really lucky as excursions are so much fun.

I like seeing all the work from my brother and friends. I can't wait to go in the excursion with your class. I hope we get to write in a slate like the one in your photo.

I loved the coin collection Hannah. Dad has some from other countries and I like looking at them. You are lucky to gave so many to look at. Are you allowed to play with them?

Dear children and Mrs Taylor,
ReplyDeleteI really like your activities about school in the olden days. Have you ever seen the old Queensland Readers? They are very nice and interesting books that little Queenslanders used to learn how to read in the olden days. They have very nice pictures, poems and stories.
here is a link to the internet site about them:

Kind regards and I am looking forward to your excursion to Beenleigh.
